As mentioned in previous blog posts, the use of tablets in the workplace has been constantly rising in recent years. This device is perfect for those who travel frequently or are in and out of the office on a daily basis. With the ability to sync your data to the tablet, it is easier than ever to take all that important information for a business meeting with you on the go. Tablets such as Apple’s iPad allow for you to download VoIP apps, so you can take all of your work contacts with you. Tech Republic discusses the rise of tablets in the workplace.
According to Tech Republic, “Research by analyst Ovum found that 17.6 percent of the employees it surveyed had already been provided with a tablet by their employer, up from 12.5 percent in 2012: but of the respondents who owned a tablet themselves, 66.7 percent used that device at work.
As the proportion of tablet owners increased from 28.4 percent of staff in 2012 to 44.5 percent in 2013, this means a rapid increase in the number of personal tablets also being used at work.”
